Little did I know when I was asked to make paintings for OPUS XVI what a journey that was ahead of me. The only way for me to visualize Edvard Grieg was by getting to know the person behind the music. I was inspired through conversations with Britt Marie and Alexander Grieg, an unexpected and interesting meeting with the pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, Erling Dahl Jr`s skillful narration and my own listening to Grieg`s music. The paintings came to me in eight pieces. Four concrete and four abstracts. The circles in my paintings represents the power and unique pictorial music Edvard Grieg composed.
